The wait is over!
Everyone's been wondering how Licia is doing and we thought the best way to answer that would be to post another video on YouTube.com.
We hope this will be the last health update Licia will need to post.

Licia-amiloidosi: 2 a 0! :-D
LICIA IS AWAKE!!!!
On Friday her kidneys began to fail.
On Saturday she lost all energy.
On Sunday morning she became confused.
By Sunday at noon she could only nod her head to yes or no questions.
By Sunday at 3 she didn't know who I was.
By Sunday at 6 she didn't know who she was.
By Sunday night she was lost. She couldn't speak or move her body on command.
By Sunday at 11PM I had to close her eyes for her because she was in a coma. Gone.
All day Monday Licia, as a person, was dead. Her brain buried by toxins her kidneys could not filter.
Oct 1st was the darkest day of my life.
But on Monday night she got her first kidney dialysis session.
By Tuesday morning she knew her name.
By Tuesday afternoon she said: I love you Steve
Oct 2nd was the best day of my life.
Tuesday night she had her second kidney dialysis.
On Wednesday she was 80% back.
On Wednesday night three of her sisters: Germana, Giulia and Nicoletta flew in from Italy to help her recover everything she had lost over the last two days.
For two days the love of my life was basically "dead" with only the ability to breathe and swallow. But 12 hours of kidney dialysis and your love, support and prayers....plus Licia's incredible spirit.... made it possible to for her to record this video for you this morning.

FORZA CIUTTY
Quando si è ammalati è importante tenersi su almeno con il morale, se si è ammalati ed anche costretti ad un isolamento prolungato poi diventa quasi una necessità, per fortuna Licia fa di necessità virtù!
Dopo il trapianto di midollo spinale necessario per curare quel tipo di amiloidosi, gli effetti collaterali sono molti e a volte pesanti, ma lei è proprio forte!
ecco che dice:
"Io ho alti e bassi, ma vado avanti. Ho inventato un nuovo modo per tirarmi su di morale: quando ho i brividi di febbre (il che succede spesso) mi immagino le cellule del mio corpo che fanno la "ola" le faccio gridare: Evviva, siamo vive e vegete!!!!!!! Cosi' anche i sintomi negativi diventano un momento di gioia :-) Secondo il dottore devo tenere duro fino a domenica e poi si vedra' un miglioramento... speriamo bene.
Un abraccio a voi tutti. Love, licia"
